The pathogenic effect of P. collessi microsporidia on larvae of the blood-sucking mosquitoes Culex modestus and C. pipiens was studied. This agent causes a significant death rate of larvae with 7-54% of larvae developing to the imago stage; while in controls 79-97% of larvae reached this stage.
