In Eastern Kazak larvae were of Aedes communis, A. diantaeus, A. pionips, A. pullatus and A. punctor mosquitoes were infected with H. mermitides. The intensity of infection did not change from 3-40%; from 1-8 larvae of H. mermitides parasitized mosquito larvae. In laboratory tests all infected larvae died within 8 days. From 11-44 of infected larvae and 61-95% of control larvae reached the imago stage. Larvae of A. communis, A. diantaeus and A. punctor mosquitoes are considered as new hosts of Hydromermis in Kazakh. In nature, 66.6% of the specimens developed pupae and 16.6% of A. diantaeus mosquitoes reached the imago stage.
