In an examination of mosquitoes in the Kzyl-Agach Reserve of Azerbaijan in the Soviet Union in 1970, filarial larvae in various stages of development were found in 2 females of Anopheles hyrcanus (Pall.) and 19 of A. maculipennis Mg. Infective larvae were found only in the latter. The parasite was not determined specifically, but is considered to be near Dirofilaria immitis or D. repens. In the summer of 1969, in the Khasan area of the Maritime Province, infective filarial larvae were found in 4 females of Aedes togoi (Theo.). This species of larva is described and figured. Filariid larvae were found in Anopheles maculipennis and A. hyrcanus in Azerbaidzhan and in Aedes togoi in the Primorsk Territory, USSR. The larvae found in A. togoi are described and illustrated.
