Swiss albino mice were infected with 500, 1000 or 2000 A. caninum larvae as single infective doses or with several doses at weekly intervals and tail blood samples were examined for eosinophils at intervals up to day 30 of infection. The eosinophil counts in the 6 experimental groups were significantly higher than in the uninfected control group. Peak levels were recorded on day 16 in mice with single infections and on day 4 and 9 in mice infected repeatedly; the levels were higher in the immunized than in the naive mice. Correlation between eosinophilia and immune response is discussed.
