Ancylostoma caninum: immunization through transfer of sensitized lymphoid cells & their effect on the expulsion and/or destruction of worm burden in Swiss albino mice

Sensitized small intestinal and large intestinal mesenteric lymph node cells were found to transfer adoptive immunity in female Swiss albino mice during A. caninum infection resulting in the expulsion and/or destruction of challenged larvae in comparison to nonsensitized cells; the former were highly effective throughout the experimental period but the latter were less effective, initially becoming equally effective as small intestinal mesenteric lymph node cells by 96 h. Possibly, this may be due to the effects of differential drainage of the 2 different types of lymph nodes.
