Effect of vinblastine on the proliferative and immune responses of the lymphoid cells of the draining lymph node and spleen in mice undergoing regional immunization with ram erythrocytes

It was found that vinblastine administered 48 hours after immunization of mice by sheep red cells produced a long-term (for up to 3 days) suppression of 3H-thymidine inclusion into lymphoid cells following a 8-12-hour latent period. This was accompanied with a complete elimination of humoral response of the draining lymph node and a five-fold decrease of the number of antibody-forming cells in the spleen.
