Preliminary work in Belgium has shown a satisfactory antibody response to one-nostril administration of a standard dose, in reduced volume, of an intranasal vaccine containing temperature-specific strains of IBR IPV, bovine adenovirus and bovine parainfluenza virus. In a field study in the UK, 35 calves aged 4-5 months had the same percentage seroconversion rate to the monovalent IBR IPV vaccine (strain RLB 106 ts) whether this was given in both nostrils or in reduced volume in one nostril.
