Antimicrobial properties of hexamethylene diamine and piperidine derivatives

The antimicrobial properties of synthetic organic compounds, such as etonium, dodeconium (derivatives of hexamethylenediamine) and piperidonium (derivative of piperidine) were studied with respect to 24 species of test microorganisms. The preparations under study were characterized by a wide spectrum of the antimicrobial effect, they selectively inhibited certain species of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and also possessed fungistatic activity relative to yeasts and yeast-like and hyphal fungi.
