L'administration d'une dose quotidienne de 20 à 25 mg de cyclamate de soude à des souris, favorise chez ces animaux l'apparition d'hépatomes malins et de tumeurs pulmonaires multiples. La latence d'apparition de ces tumeurs est très longue; leur évolution est lente. Le cyclamate de sodium peut être considéré comme un cancérigène faible.
