The agrocin was obtained in a pure form using paper electrophoresis at pH 6.5 and pH 3.5. The high mobility towards the anode observed under these circumstances shows that it is an acidic substance of low molecular weight. Gelfiltration even suggests a molecular weight in the 200 to 1000 dalton range.
