Post-mortem examination of a mature female breeding guineapig, which was reported to have aborted and later died, revealed profuse haemorrhage affecting the left horn of the uterus and miliary abscessation on the liver. Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae was isolated from the liver and uterus.
