A new tetrahydroxy triterpene acid, named roxburic acid (R-7). C30H48O6, D18 0.degree., was isolated from the fruits of Rosa roxburghii Tratt. Its structure was elucidated to be 2.beta.,3.beta.,7.beta.,19.alpha.-tetrahydroxyurs-12-en-28-oic acid by chemical and spectral evidence.
