Changes in the content of free radicals, tissue respiration and cytochrome oxidase activity in the lymphoid organs were studied in 290 rats and 8 rabbits with allogeneic sensitization (transplantation of skin, lymph node and thymus cells) and administration of antilymphocytic sera (ALS) varying in titer. There was a tendency toward changes in the concentration of free radicals in the lymph node, thymus, spleen and liver depending on the sensitization time. Immunodepression with ALS produced a different effect on the free-radical processes and cytochrome oxidase activity in the lymphoid organs of rats. ALS (titer 1:64, 1:128, 1:256) lowers the concentration of free radicals in the thymus, spleen and lymph nodes by 20% (on the average) with 4- to 6-fold daily administrations. ALS (titer of cytotoxins being 1:1024 and 1:2048) produces a 30-150% increase in the concentration of free radicals in the same lymphoid organs with single and multiple administrations of ALS.
