Experimental transfer of enzootic bovine leucosis to sheep

A leukocyte suspension obtained from a cow with persistent lymphocytosis was transferred to 17 day old lambs and 9 Camerun dwarf goats. Inoculation of the suspension was followed by immunosuppressive treatment with 0.2 mg doses of glucocorticoid on 8 occasions at 2 day intervals. The 1st illness, fatal in outcome, occurred by the end of the 19th mo. after transfer. At present, another experimental animal is showing generalized swelling of the lymph nodes.
