In further laboratory investigations on the effects of the oil extracted from the rhizomes of Acorus calamus, newly emerged adult females of Thermobia domestica (Pack.) exposed to the vapour from doses of 3-13 ml oil showed changes in the ovaries similar to those caused by chemosterilants and compounds with juvenile hormone activity.
