Stability of novobiocin in aqueous solutions at various pH values and temperatures was studied experimentally. In weak acid media (pH less than 7) the antibiotic was rather stable. In alkaline media novobiocin reduced to its isoform and the rate of reduction significantly increased with an increase in temperature and alkalinity.
