Estimations were made of the activity ot aqueous solutions of hydrogen chloride tetracycline at various pH in order to ascertain their inactivation time. This method allows us to determine the loss resulting during isolation of tetracycline from the fermentation wort. A method of recrystalization of hydrogen chloride tetracycline. consisting of dissolving of the preparation in ethanol with the addition of tri-ethylamine and then crystalization by adding methanol solution of FIC1, was also elaborated. The described method allows to obtain pharmacopeal preparations during 3-4 hours with a mean output of 96.4 (±1.5)%.
