The degradation of clomethiazole has been studied kinetically at different temperatures and pH. Two reaction mechanisms giving different degradation products dominate, depending on the pH. Decomposition of different liquid formulations of clomethiazole was calculated from an Arrhenius plot. A good agreement was obtained with values found for stored products.
