Controlled anthelmintic trials in sheep with a combination of morantel and diethylcarbamazine

Controlled trials were carried out with combinations of morantel tartrate and diethylcarbamazine citrate (DECC) or base diethylcarbamazine (DEC) in both natural and experimental infections involving 107 sheep. The optimum dose containing 10 mg/kg morantel tartrate and 50 mg/kg DECC (or 25.5 mg/kg DEC) reduced adult worm populations of Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus, Nematodirus, Cooperia, Oesophagostomum, Chabertia and Dictyocaulus filaria by 90-100%.
