SC1001A is a new sedative, hypnotic and anti-epileptic drug. It has been used in clinical tests. In order to study its dosage design and pharmacokinetics, it is necessary to develop a method for accurate determination of SC1001A concentration in blood. After careful study of the chromatographic conditions, a specific reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography method is proposed. SC1001A and its metabolites can be separated with methanol and water (70:30), in Zorbax-C18 column and detected by UV detector at 266 nm. The method possesses a good sensitivity, reproducibility (coefficient of variation 1.00%) and linearity (r = 0.9980). The average recovery is about 84.58%.
