A number of methods have been proposed to study free radical lipid peroxidation which occurs in many human pathologies. Gas chromatographic detection of ethane and pentane by products of lipoperoxidative processes are very useful in this field. A Method on humans is proposed in which expirated air concentrated on a parasil-A stainless steel column 100 .times. 3, frozen at -110.degree. in nitrogen-aethanol both and the eluate obtained at 160.degree. in a sand is injected into a 30' stainless steel .**GRAPHIC**. 1/8' gaschromatographic column filled with 23% sp 1700 on 80/100 chromosorb .pi. aw at 700. Ethane and pentane are revealed at 3,67' and 13,08' their concentration in the expirate of pathological patients are greatly reduced by antioxidant mixture administration.
