R. leschenaulti (28) were inoculated with Kyasanur Forest disease (KFD) virus. Bats having neutralizing antibodies previous to inoculation did not produce viremia. Of 11 bats which had no demonstrable antibodies, 8 produced viremia varying from traces to 3.0 dex LD50. These findings have relevance to the vector potential of this bat for KFD virus. .
