On certain modern problems of pediatric gynecology

The article discusses briefly the principal gynecological diseases in children, based upon data on 258 patients. The first place is taken up by the group of patients with juvenile hemorrhages (77 cases), the second - children with tumors of the ovaries (62), the third - those with trauma of the genitalia (4('), the fourth - patients with inflammatory nonspecific processes (25), the fifth - with developmental defects (14), the sixth - those with tumors of the external genitalia (12), the seventh - girls with gonorrhea (8); the incidence of ovarian hemorrhage also comprised 8 cases. Tumors of the uterus and vagina were noted in 7 children, foreign bodies in the vagina were found in 3 cases, 2 patients had prolapse of the uterus and one - tuberculosis of the uterine appendages. The modes of treatment of some diseases are briefly outlined. The parer stresses the point that the treatment of gynecological diseases in childhood is, at times, the only prophylactic measure of controlling a number of affections in adult women.
