Trichuris bradleyi n.sp. was recovered from the caecum and large intestine of 8 of 27 Octodon degus collected 30 km from Santiago, Chile. It lacks a true spicular tube and the spicule lies in the cloaca, distinguishing it from all other species of the genus described from rodents. It resembles T. sylvilagi but differs in the nature of the cloaca, in having spines on the spicule sheath, and in having a shorter ejaculatory duct and vas deferens.
