The authors describe a method for rearing large numbers of Ditylenchus dipsaci on lucerne tissues in a short period of time and with little contamination. Reproduction was best in darkness at 20 to 25 deg C. Maximum numbers were obtained at 3 to 6 weeks after which they declined rapidly.
