When Lymnaea rubiginosa harbouring Trichobilharzia brevis were exposed at various intervals to superinfections with Echinostoma hystricosum, the infection rate showed little difference from controls (without T. brevis) at intervals up to 6 days. However, exposure at 7 days after infection with T. brevis produced a marked increase in the infection rate with E. hystricosum (74% compared with 24% in controls).
