Cercariae of Trichobilharzia szidati Neuhaus, 1952 (Trematoda: Schistosomatidae) : the causative agent of cercarial dermatitis in Bohemia and Moravia

A total of 15 334 snails of 12 species from 83 localities in Bohemia and Moravia, Czech Republic, were examined from 1988 to 1991. 59 (0.4%) of the snails harboured schistosome cercariae. 17 (0.3%) of 5350 Lymmnea auricularia and 42 (0.6%) of 7490 L. stagnalis were infected, with Trichobilharzia szidati. Infected snails were found only in 22 of the 83 localities. None of the other snails were infected.
