Experimental observations are reported on the antagonism of Echinostoma revolutum rediae to Schistosoma mansoni sporocysts in Biomphalaria alexandrina. E. revolutum was markedly dominant in snails infected simultaneously with the echinostome and schistosome, and also in snails with superinfections of the echinostome by or on the schistosome. Rediae and metacercariae of E. revolutum were pathogenic to snails, inducing a high mortality rate. Possible biological control of S. mansoni in Egypt is indicated.
