Treatment of massive Trichuris trichiura infections with Telmid

32 children with heavy infections of Trichuris trichiura, whose ages ranged from 20 months to ten years, were treated with daily doses of 20 mg. dithiazanine iodide per pound body-weight for five days with a maximum of 600 mg. in any one day. Within 22 days the faecal egg counts of 30 cases became negative, the two other cases showing much reduced egg counts. Nausea and vomiting in ten children subsided after treatment. J.w.s.
