A complement fixation technique for schistosomiasis, using 3 CH50 units of complement and an endpoint of 50% haemolysis is described. A high degree of specificity and sensitivity was demonstrated using human, baboon and rabbit sera. When applied to rabbits, an early fall in antibody was observed after treatment with niridazole, and low titre persisted thereafter. [AS].
