Results of tests in mice infected experimentally with Hymenolepsis nana suggested that cucurbitine and Novocain, which are ineffective against the parasite when given alone, are valuable adjuncts to treatment with phenasal. Phenasal at 450 to 590 mg/kg body-weight was found to be about 50% more potent when doses of 500 mg/kg cucurbitine or 120 mg/kg Novocain were given simultaneously.
