Eosinophilia in experimental toxascariasis (visceral larva migrans) in white mice

White mice were infected with Toxascaris leonina (1500, 2500 or 3500 eggs) and the blood picture was examined at intervals for up to 135 days. The eosinophil count increased from day 7 to a peak on day 28. Thereafter, the proportion of lymphocytes increased as the proportion of eosinophils decreased. A degree of eosinophilia persisted up to day 135.
