A study undertaken by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), the Rural Development Studies Bureau of the University of Zambia, and the National Food and Nutrition Commission into the impact of agricultural growth on the welfare of the rural pooor in the Eastern Province of Zambia is reported. Details are given of the scope of the study, rural infrastructure, data collection and analyses, results and conclusions.
