A new incubator model (Mini) was tested against the traditional (Heraeus) incubator in an attempt to increase the rate of blastocyst production in vitro. The difference between their properties seemed only to be the volume of the incubator space. No difference was noted between the CO2 or the temperature, but the result clearly showed a highly significant increase in the rate of blastocyst production, of 6% versus 51% in the Heraeus and the Mini incubators, respectively, calculated as blastocysts per cleaved embryo.
