A tolerance of 0.2 ppm, which is less than the sensitivity of the analytical method in certain pig tissues, was established for tylosin in edible animal tissues. Residual tylosin was detected in liver tissue from pigs that had been receiving tylosin at 1, 000 g per ton of food up to slaughter, but no residues above the tolerance limit were detected in tissues when tylosin was fed at 500, 200 or 100 g/ton.
