The effect of systematic application of bayluscide on controlling bilharziasis

All watercourses in an agricultural area in Egypt were treated with Bayluscide twice a year for 5 years. There was no marked reduction in Bulinus truncatus density and the rate of Schistosoma haematobium infection in children did not appear to be affected. In the 6th year, when treatment of the population was introduced, the percentage of snails which were infected decreased.
