Thirty T. vaginalis infected males, with an average age of 18 years, were treated with a single oral dose of 2 g of tinidazole. Diagnosis and therapeutical evaluations were based on the search for the parasite in the urine sediment. Parasitological cure was obtained in 25 (83.3%) of the 30 patients. The 5 non-cured patients received an additional treatment, using the same dosage. Thus, another 3 patients cured. Consequently, the full cure rate was raised to 93.3%.
