Double blind comparative study of tinidazole and ornidazole as a single dose treatment of vaginal trichomoniasis

A double-blind comparative study of tinidazole and ornidazole was conducted among 107 Thai women who were proven to harbor Trichomonas vaginalis. The study was designed for a single dose of drugs to be administered so the efficacy and side effects could be assessed. Tinidazole and ornidazole yield cure rates of 98.05 and 98.19%, respectively. The side effects for orniazole were much more frequent than for tinidazole.
