Of 1, 323 Enga people living in the Western Highlands of New Guinea, 9.6% had positive reactions to intradermal Dirofilaria immitis antigen (WHO Reference Standard). Clinical filariasis is not seen in this area and very few people had ever visited an endemic filarial area.
