A method is described for the estimation of the antioxidant butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) which is much simpler, less time-consuming and cheaper than previous methods. BHT is extracted from a sample with methanol, the extract is filtered, separated on a HPLC column and absorption measured at 280 nm.
