The effect of substance K on the morphology and ultrastructure of Trichophyton mentagrophytes var. gypseum in vivo

The antibiotic preparation K obtained from a plant of the Asteraceae family was studied as being locally applied for its effect on the ultrastructure of Trichophyton mentagrophytes var. gypseum in the horny epidermis layer from loci of experimental guinea pig trichophytosis. The preparation K is established to rapidly induce destructive changes of different extent in the fungal cells and to release the horny epidermis layer in the lesion foci from this fungus.
