A study was undertaken in Uttar Pradesh during 1995-96 (n=50), the objectives of which were to: study resource use and cropping pattern of sugar cane growers; examine costs and returns per hectare of sugar cane cultivation under different size groups; and identify problems faced by sugar cane growers and suggest suitable solutions. Results are reported.
