Thirty five strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were tested for biological properties in rabbit ileum loop test. Out of that 7 strains were isolated from food products and they consisted an etiologic agent of food poisoning and 28 were isolated from food tested within the current control program. The most pronounced effect on ileum had complete broth culture of pathogenic strains which resulted in the highest liquid accumulation in lumen of ilumen loop, changes in its colour and consistency, injection of ileum wall vessels, and changes in mucose membrane of ileum in some internal organs of rabbits (liver, lung). Accumulation of exudate in ileum loop was more frequent when strains from food poisoning were tested (5/7). When isolates from food not causing food poisoning were used accumulation of exudate was less frequent. Culture filtrates of 5 pathogenic Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains also caused an enlargement of ileum loop.
