This paper aims to draw the attention of pre-school and primary school teachers to the importance and scope of audio-visual aids in educational programmes in developing countries. Emphasis is on low-cost visual aids and how they might be produced inexpensively and used effectively. Types of audio-visual aids are classified and basic materials suggested. There are many illustrations accompanying the text. An annex discusses nutrition and health teaching in Bhutan and the use of audio-visual aids.
