Comparative study with physiologic serum, eledoisin and bromhexine in the treatment of dry eye syndromes

We studied 90 patients with the dry eye syndrome, either as an isolated ophthalmic pathology or associated to other systemic abnormalities. We divided them into three groups of 30 patients and each group received one of the following therapeutical regimens: eledoisin, bromhexine, or physiological serum (considered as placebo). Therapy was continued for 90 days and controls were performed every two weeks to evaluate several parameters. The results showed that there were no significant differences between the regimens studied and that none of them improved any of the studied parameters.
