Escherichia coli of groups O116 and O157, group N Salmonella serotypes, Pseudomonas maltophilia and Yersinia enterocolitica, inoculated into cattle and swine, were all capable of evoking significant titres of antibodies which cross-reacted with Brucella. These antibodies also formed in cattle given E. coli O157, Salmonella urbana and Y. enterocolitica 0:9 by mouth; only the last-named was capable of doing this in swine.
