A plate c.f. test based on that described by Lindley (1960), and used for the diagnosis of bovine pleuropneumonia at Vom, is based on a series of complement dilutions and a constant serum dilution. No cattle purchased for the laboratory or for the cattle ranches have developed pleuropneumonia after having passed the test. This modified Lindley test is considered to be the least laborious and most accurate of all the c.f.
