The indirect micro-enzyme-labelled immunosorbent assay was used successfully for subtyping FMD virus strains recovered from field outbreaks. The rabbit anti-guinea pig globulin-peroxidase conjugate employed has the advantage of being used with any of the seven types of FMD virus.
