RBC of cattle, fowl, goat, pony, rabbit, sheep and swine were tested. The CEM bacterial soluble antigen could not be adsorbed to fowl RBC, even with increased tannic acid exposure. Swine RBC autoagglutinated on treatment with tannic acid. The suitability of RBC of the other species varied with the individual animal.
