Blood samples were collected from slaughtered pigs affected with enzootic pneumonia at two different abattoirs. Using the indirect haemagglutination (IHA) test with formalinized erythrocyte cells 87 out of 98 pigs with pneumonic lesions showed antibody titres equal or greater than 1:32. Only 2 out of 61 pigs from herds free from enzootic pneumonia had IHA titres equal or greater than 1:32. All specific-pathogen-free pigs tested were negative. Results support the assumption that the IHA test measures specific antibodies against M. hyopneumonia..
